St. Vincent De Paul Society Conference
The Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish Conference of the St. Vincent De Paul Society was established in 2014 to be an effective means of responding to the needs of the impoverished in our midst. Knox is the Starke County seat - and Starke County is one of the poorest counties in the state of Indiana. Soon after his election to the papacy, Pope Francis stated that he desired "a poor Church for the poor," and the people of Saint Thomas Aquinas parish responded. Vincentians (members of the Conference) help those in need with rent, utility, food and other forms of assistance. Requests for assistance can be made through the St. Thomas Aquinas parish office at 574-772-4134 or directly to the Parish Conference of the St. Vincent De Paul Society at 574-806-0431. It is only through the generosity of parishioners and other supporters, as well as through the commitment of our dedicated Vincentians, that we are able to assist the needy in this compassionate and effective manner. Our parish of Saint Thomas Aquinas exists not only to make a difference in the lives of our parishioners, but also to make a difference in the welfare of our community and its residents. The Saint Vincent De Paul Society is one of the ways that we are able to accomplish this goal.
